PRACTICE GROUPS AND INDUSTRY AREAS
Ms. French is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Charleston office. She regularly advises employers as to the implementation of employment policies, provides training to employees, and conducts internal investigations on employee complaints. She has had a particular focus on discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, and claims for wrongful discharge and retaliation.
Ms. French has also defended employers in construction litigation and claims for deliberate intent. Throughout her legal career, she has consistently practiced in the field of insurance defense litigation, including bad faith. Ms. French has trial experience in employment and personal injury cases.
In 2009, Ms. French was elected President of the Kanawha County Bar Association. In 2007, Ms. French attended the University of Virginia Trial Advocacy College. She graduated from West Virginia University in 1996 with a B.A. in International Studies, and a concentration in Asian studies, including the Japanese language. Ms. French is a 2002 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, where she was an Associate Editor of the West Virginia Law Review. During her third-year of law school, Ms. French represented the West Virginia College of Law in its externship program as a student law clerk to the Honorable Joseph R. Goodwin of the United States District Court, Southern District of West Virginia.
