Practice Groups
Bankruptcy
Our bankruptcy law practice group has historically had a primary emphasis on creditor representation in most complex business bankruptcies and simple consumer bankruptcies. We also routinely represent creditors in pre- or non-bankruptcy workouts. Having a creditor orientation actually helps us do business debtor reorganization work, where we concentrate in coal and health care settings. Our bankruptcy group includes a court appointed Chapter 7 Trustee.
Our experience includes the following:
- Chapter 11 plan process including initial filings, first day matters, general Chapter 11 administration, plan and disclosure preparation and implementation through confirmation
- Relief from stay and adequate protection
- Post-petition financing
- Single asset real estate bankruptcies
- Fund creation and channeling of claims
- Liquidating plans
- Discharge and exceptions from discharge
- Exemption assertion and objection
- Claim resolution and prioritization
- Chapter 13 plan process including objections to plans and valuations of property
